O poder do cidadão, o poder de cada um de nós, limita-se, na esfera política, repito, na esfera política, a tirar um governo de que não se gosta e a pôr outro de que talvez venha a se gostar. As grandes decisões são tomadas em uma outra grande esfera e todos sabemos qual é. As grandes organizações financeiras internacionais, os FMIs, a Organização Mundial do Comércio, os bancos mundiais. Tudo isso. Nenhum desses organismos é democrático. E, portanto, como falar em democracia se aqueles que efetivamente governam o mundo não são eleitos democraticamente pelo povo? Quem é que escolhe os representantes dos países nessas organizações? Onde está então a democracia?
