There are colonies of hippies’ springing up in most American cities. They all declare themselves rebels against our society, but they want to withdraw from it, instead of trying to change it. It is hard to figure out what positive things they are in favor of. They like music.
Many of them are seeking a new sensation, there is the drug Lysergic acid diethylamide, LSD, acid for short.
The hippies have declared the use of this and similar hallucinatory drugs to be the source of new and valuable… LSD is said to change the way the brain handles sensory input. The result is violent distortion of thought and feeling. The user may see a wild complexity of images and hear a multiplicity of sounds. This is called taking an acid trip.
